ECHO'S PHILA HOUSE

The sun is not centered on the flag and the bottom of the stamp shows a shift upwards of the figures and colors. Due to the low number of stamps printed for each issue, small varieties like this are very popular and often command high prices.

This is a block of four of 08-1b, showing the double perforations on the right side of the block.

Additional: A special folder exists with a picture of the Sundarbans on the cover and back. The folder opens and contains a block of four of the stamps and both a perf. and imperf. SS. It is interesting that the front cover is in Bengali, but the lengthy description on the back is only in English.

The block of four stamps and the imperforate and perforate SSs are enclosed in plastic sleeves and the sleeves glued to the booklet.

The CCM for this issue is in the bottom left corner. Because each stamp was only printed in one color, there is only one color in the box.

Additional: The FDC envelopes sold out and a second printing was made. The second printing is in a lighter colored ink. The envelope is slightly different size and the first printing has a bubble in the ink in the circle at the lower right. I have not been able to locate any bubble, and the covers appear to be almost the same size. The first printing is the scarcer of the two.
A presentation pack consisting of the cover and an envelope exist.
This is the first government prepared FDC wtih a design on the back flap.

This is the first FDC produced by the government that has a design on the back flap, and the logo and writing on each side of it, placed near the bottom of the envelope. Above it is the folder of the presentation pack. The top image is the stiff envelope, with the flap open, of the envelope it came in. Below that is the front cover of the folder. The back is identical, except in Bengali. Below that is the open folder with a set of the stamps on the left and a FDC on the right.

Insert: SS comes in a stiff paper folder that opens from the bottom and folds up. The inside top of the folder has the information about the sheet (as listed above), and the bottom has a pocket near the bottom for holding the sheet.

The top image is of the cover of the government prepared folder for this issue. The center is the opened folder, showing the pocket at the bottom (without a SS), and the last image of the back of the folder.

The envelope is missing a color, which is most likely the yellow as the background of the Bangladesh flag is blue on the cover. Note that the red is also printed double, as evidenced by the double red logo on the back of the envelope.

This is the only known copy of this error to date.
