A Brief about Co-Author & Web Developer: Zahidul Islam Echo

Zahidul Islam Echo’s journey into the world of philately is quite impressive and spans across different continents. He was born in Sirajganj, Bangladesh, and began his passion for stamp collecting at a young age of 10, inspired by his older brother Obaidul Islam. His early interest led him to acquire deep knowledge in philately, nurtured by Mr. Md. Manzur Kader from Old Post Office Road, Sirajganj.

Echo’s talent in philately blossomed further when he participated in the Bangladesh National Philatelic Exhibition (Banglapex 1992) in Dhaka, where he achieved first place in the junior group. His success continued internationally when he won the Vermeil Medal in the Youth group at the World Stamp Exhibition in New Delhi in 1997. He also represented Bangladesh in several FIP (Fédération Internationale de Philatélie) exhibitions during his time in India for higher education from 1994 to 1999.

Afterwards, Echo relocated to Australia where he has actively contributed to the philatelic community. He participated in numerous national stamp exhibitions in Australia and New Zealand, winning the prestigious Large Vermeil medal multiple times. Echo’s dedication to philately is also evident in his role as the founder of “Echo’s Phila House,” a website dedicated to promoting Bangladeshi postage stamps and fostering philatelic knowledge in Bangladesh.

Overall, Zahidul Islam Echo’s journey from Sirajganj to global recognition in philately showcases not only his passion for stamps but also his commitment to sharing this passion with others, both in Bangladesh and internationally.
